The first snow came! I am not ready!
On Wednesday Paul and the kids went over to a neighbors and made a few batches of apple cider before their fingers froze and it got real dark. It was delicious! Our friends are so cool!
Thursday and Friday we celebrated Halloween. It was SPOOK-TACULAR! Thursday the YM/YW put on a cute Halloween carnival for the primary children. It was the first year Paul and I were not required to be there. It felt weird, but we decided to take a break and go out for dinner, with the active 1 1/2 year old. It was nice! On Friday Paul's work put on an amazing event for the children and families. His department took home first prize (again) and they deserved it. We walked into the building to all of a sudden be transported into some of the most noteworthy Horror films. We braved Dracula's castle, King Tut's tomb, crossed hesitantly a 20 foot Sleepy Hollow covered bridge only to be greeted by a scary Headless Horseman, and saw the Wolfman transform right before our eyes. The Fire Marshall was called in earlier in the week as the Adobe Halloween transformations began and due to multiple fire code violations Adobe quickly made some adjustments to handle the occupancy and fire codes. They brought in magicians, jugglers, cowboys on ten feet stilts, balloon artists, popcorn, cotton candy vendors and more to keep the kiddies entertained while they waited to go into the various magical lands of fun. It actually ended up being even more delightful because there were not mass crowds pushing you through. Paul really got into costume this year...

The kids had fun getting their costumes ready. Mom and the little girls took many trips to the local thrift store and party store to provide quality costumes. Mom even spent most of Thursday afternoon creating an authentic Athena costume. The ones at the store are not at all what Athena looks like. It turned out really well, if I might say so :) We even did a temporary hair dye. Mom isn't so good at that :( Christian is the one who inspired Paul. As Paul started experimenting how to make real looking wounds he had so much fun that he decided to be a zombie also. Annmarie was inspired by her favorite books she is reading, The Rainbow Fairies. Cannon was just plain cool! Careful, you are never sure of what is lurking in that grass!

Genevieve was a cute and warm little zebra. I need to get the good picture from my mom because all of mine had her with her hood down.
Sunday we had our Primary program. All the children did so wonderful! Almost all the children had their parts memorized (70 kids), were so reverent and they sang like the little angels they are. Our senior chorister composed a song that was just beautiful. Someday you might all have the privilege of hearing it and learning it in your primaries, it was that good!
Love to you all,
Candace and Clan
